Notify your Local School Board
If you have not done so already, be sure to file the “Home Schooling Notification” with your local school system’s Home Schooling Coordinator. Your child could be considered truant if you withdraw him from school without immediately filing this form. This form only needs to be completed once - when you first begin homeschooling *.You do not need to respond to requests in subsequent years from the school system for additional verification of home schooling. Salem Christian School sends updates to the school systems during the year advising them of new enrollees or students who have withdrawn from our program. In Harford County, the coordinator can normally be reached at the middle school serving your area. In Baltimore County, you should contact Jan Liposchak or Kimberly O'Conner at the Office of Alternative Education, (443)809-2896. For Baltimore City, call (410)545-3892, and Cecil County (410)-996-5660. This form should be completed and returned to the school system at least fifteen (15) days prior to the start of homeschooling. Under part “C”, check box ”B”, then list Salem Christian School in the box for an education program operated by a bona fide church organization:
SALEM CHRISTIAN SCHOOL 7901 BRADSHAW RD UPPER FALLS, MD 21156
You do need to file a new Notification Form if:
- You had stopped homeschooling, returned your child to public/private school, and then resumed homeschooling
- You relocate to another county
- You add a child

The Notification Form is not an "Application Form." You are not “applying” for anything, only notifying the School Board of your intent to homeschool.
Your contact should be with the appropriate office (see above for phone numbers).
